Connects a Detroit DDEC III or DDEC IV ECM (Series 60) to the CTS bench base cable so you can read and program it on the bench, no truck needed.

  • ECM side: the DDEC III/IV ECM connectors
  • Base side: gray connector that plugs into the CTS base cable
  • Communication: J1708/J1587, used by DDEC III and DDEC IV, and J1939 on DDEC IV units that have it
  • Protection: braided sleeve and heat shrink

Requires the CTS base cable ($169), which you buy once. Buy both together and pay $249: the $49 comes off automatically in the cart.

How it works
  1. Plug the adapter into the ECM and into the base cable.
  2. Clip the leads to a 12 V battery or power supply and turn on the ignition switch.
  3. Connect your interface (Nexiq USB-Link, DLA+ or any RP1210 adapter) to the round 9-pin diagnostic connector.
  4. Open your programming software and work the ECM on the bench, no truck needed. When the software asks you to cycle the key, use the same switch.
