Read and write PACCAR EPA17 ECUs
PACCAR MX-11 and MX-13 EPA17 engine computers in Kenworth and Peterbilt. Until now no tool on the market could work them: with FLEX you read, back up and write them.
What you can do with FLEX
One tool for the electronics work that today makes you send the ECU out or own three different tools.
Full ECU backup
Read the flash and the EEPROM and save the original file before touching anything. If something goes wrong, you go back to where you started.
Clone a replacement ECU
Move the truck's original software to a used or new unit so the truck runs exactly as before.
Recover an unresponsive ECU
After a failed flash, FLEX can put certain Cummins ECUs into recovery mode (BootROM) to restore the firmware.
OBD Full: no need to open the unit
On ECUs that allow it, read internal flash, external flash and EEPROM through the diagnostic port, with the module still in the truck.
Bench and boot when OBD isn't enough
With the ECU on the bench: bench or boot connection, and Boot Glitch for newer units like the Cascadia's CPC5.
Automatic checksum and TCU
Fixes the checksum when writing. And not just engines: it also works transmission modules.

How the license works
FLEX is bought in two parts: the hardware and the software packages for the vehicle families you work on, with a yearly update subscription.
- Master: works unencrypted files and can have "Slave" shops linked to it.
- Slave: works encrypted files from its Master. It can be upgraded to Master later.
- Heavy Duty package: truck, bus, agricultural and construction over OBD, bench and boot.
We help you choose: don't pay for packages your shop won't use.

Frequently asked questions
Does it work on Series 60 DDEC III, IV or V?
Magic Motorsport doesn't list them today. For DDEC III and IV we use the CTS bench cable with its adapter. For DDEC V, message us on WhatsApp.
What computer do I need?
A laptop with Windows 10 or newer and internet: the FLEX software works online.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the hardware and the packages you need. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll quote the right setup for your shop.
