Two-harness system to fit your Detroit Series 60 12.7L DDEC IV into a Kenworth T680

The Kenworth T680 never came from the factory with a Series 60. This two-harness integration system handles the whole electrical side of the swap or repower with a Detroit Diesel Series 60 12.7L with a DDEC IV ECM. Every harness is built in our Houston lab, with controlled crimping and pin-to-pin continuity checks.

Everything about this harness

No module needed on the T680

The DDEC IV uses the J1587 protocol, so cruise and engine brake don't work the way they do on newer trucks. On a Cascadia that means choosing between new switches or a steering-wheel module. The T680 already has cruise and engine brake switches on the dash: the harness connects them and you're done. No module, no switches to buy.

What the system includes

1. Engine harness (engine ↔ cab): connects the DDEC IV ECM to batteries, starter, ignition signal, fan clutch, coolant level sensor and A/C.

2. In-cab harness: accelerator pedal, the T680's cruise and engine brake switches, dash with every gauge and warning light, and ECM ↔ cab communication (J1587).

In the box: both harnesses with labeled terminals and connectors.

FAQ

Do I have to cut or modify my T680?
No. It goes through the factory openings and no truck wire is cut or spliced.

Do I need to install switches or buy a module?
No. The T680 already has cruise and engine brake switches; the harness connects them.

Will the dash read right with the Series 60?
Yes. Gauges and warning lights work 100% with the T680's factory dash.

My engine is a 14.0L DDEC V. Will this harness work?
No. This one is only for the 12.7L with DDEC IV. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll tell you what you need.

What if my cab is a Freightliner Cascadia?
For 2009–2016 Cascadia we have a different system: go to the Cascadia harness.

Is it a factory harness?
There is no factory harness for this swap, because the T680 never came with a Series 60. It's an integration system designed and built by CTS for that combination.

What if it arrives with a defect?
Let us know within 48 hours with photos and the serial number, and we replace it at no cost.

Questions? Send us your T680 year and a photo of the ECM label on WhatsApp: we confirm the fit before you pay.

Built by CTS in Houston, Texas. CTS is a diesel electronics lab: we build harnesses and bench cables, program truck computers and teach at CTS Academy.

Works or we swap it: 30 days if the fault is CTS's (exchange, not refund) + 12 months against manufacturing defects. CTS is an independent manufacturer; Detroit Diesel and Kenworth are mentioned only to indicate compatibility.
